Lego community website Brickset is hosting a contest to create a vehicle that would fit with Lego's Mighty Micros line. I entered the above creation, and made a Flickr account for future MOCs.
I'll be home for the summer soon, so hopefully that means more work on brickfilms.

Oh THAC, the one time a year I am guaranteed to make a video. I always love participating, and this year I think I made good improvements with sound design and the lighting, in some places at least. Enjoy! Over the summer, I entered two animation challenges on Bricks in Motion. Neither is really worth uploading on its own, so I planned on putting it with a third one that I didn't end up finishing.
Looking at this blog I realized I never made mention of my Easter Entry. I was pretty happy with the result and the fact that it placed 10th in the contest. It is based on one of my favorite movies (bet you can't guess which one). It also serves as a look at the technique I used in some of the shots for my western for expanding the landscape. If you missed it, I hope you enjoy it. So when I first saw the Series 14 minifigures online, I got pretty excited. It looked like a solid lineup and the Collectible Minifigures is one of my favorite lines ever. I still remember the excitement and the possibilities that filled my mind when I saw Series 1 before school one day. Well, I've been looking out for them and finally saw some at Walmart. I decided to pick up two. I really like them both. The witch has a nice, classic look to her and animals are always welcome by me. The broom might be a draw for some, as I don't see them that much anymore, but my Harry Potter phase has me set with those. I still haven't used a skirt in a brickfilm yet, but am getting quite the collection of them from these minifigures. They seem like they would make walk cycles so much more difficult . . .
The plant/plant monster/plant monster eating a guy/guy in plant suit is one of my all time favorites. I love the headpiece and I think it really shows that awesomeness of this theme: the ability to make one time pieces that are just cool and can stretch the imagination. I have a brickfilm idea for that head piece, but you know how that goes. Aside from these ones, I really want to get the Fly and the Gargoyle. I really like all of them, but I don't entirely understand the need for three zombies and a werewolf (we have had these numerous times) but this theme doesn't have too many lame things like that. I guess the recolored Yeti could bet thrown in with them, but I guess making molds is expensive and at least this makes a different monster, Bigfoot. All in all, another win for the Collectible Minifigures. |
